X-Rite is the global leader in colour trends, science and technology. In 2015, X-Rite took the concept of their original ColorChecker Classic which had been available to photographers for 40 years, and developed a brand new set of charts, tailored to videographers and filmmakers; the Video ColorChecker and Video ColorChecker Passport.
Having primarily manufactured products for the photographic industry, 2015 saw X-Rite make their move into the video market with the launch of the Video ColorChecker range. Due to a long working relationship with X-Rite, Digital Glue have amassed strong contacts in the photographic industry across Europe, but our challenge now was to extend our outreach and build new relationships with video press, introducing X-Rite to this audience and establishing their credibility and authenticity in that market.
Digital Glue worked alongside X-Rite to launch the Video ColorChecker across Europe. We set up press briefings with key journalists in the sector, and sent press packs out to media across the EU, to ensure press had as much knowledge as possible prior to launch and could give X-Rite exposure as the new range launched. Digital Glue managed the distribution of review units to press, sending approximately 50 to journalists within the first month of the product launch and then following up to secure both print and online reviews. The Video ColorChecker was well received in the industry and continues to achieve hugely positive reviews, recently receiving nominations for ‘Audio & Video Management & Control Product of the Year’ and ‘Accessory of the Year’ at the AV Awards.
During their working relationship, Digital Glue continued to build X-Rite’s presence in the video market, through regular contact with key media, and support at industry exhibitions such as The Photography Show, IBC, and Photokina throughout 2015 and 2016.Visit X-Rite ColorChecker Website
