Formally Specs Express, Spectrum Optica is an independent opticians based in Worcester city centre and has recently came under new ownership from Zohra and Kasim Sumar.
The new brand needed to represent quality, care and expertise whilst complimenting the new store interior.
We were tasked with promoting a re-launched opticians which needed to gain general interest and present a new angle to attract new customers whilst retaining its existing loyal customer base.
In order to identify ideal customers, we explored possible customer target markets which could be suitable for the business. From there, the company name was adjusted to suit the defined market.
The final logo used complimentary typefaces to form a modern and current word mark. The subtle rotation of the ‘A’ in ‘Optica’ forms an eye which allows the logo to become more versatile.
With a shop launch date set, the shop exterior needed to be updated. Working closely with Zohra and HNS signs, we produced an exterior which brought the shop front into the modern era.
We created a number of competitions which were purely ran using social media platforms, Twitter and Facebook. Using hashtags was key in engaging new potential customers and followers on social media. Press coverage in Worcester News helped promote awareness of the launch weekend, which included The Worcester Mayor’s attendance and ongoing social media interaction and engagement. We also assisted with pre-launch leaflet drops. This included distribution and competitions to enter on the day.
From scratch, we created a Twitter account which played a key part of the customer engagement and awareness of the newly branded opticians, with over 200 followers gained in a matter of weeks, with many hundreds more interacting through retweets, likes and comments.
Spectrum Optica gained strong coverage in a key regional newspapers (Worcester News and Berrows Journal).
The Mayor of Worcester increased social media followers by 22 on the day of the event.
