Royal Horticultural Society (RHS)
The Royal Horticultural Society is the UK’s leading gardening charity. The charity promotes horticulture through flower shows such as the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. It also supports training for professional and amateur gardeners.
The Challenge
Digital Glue were tasked with designing a promotional flyer for a competition show garden exhibit at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. Supported by BBC The One Show programme, this garden showpiece was the end result of a national completion to find the UKs best amateur garden designer.
The design and final printed flyer needed to comply with very straight RHS brand and visual identity guidelines, while also being unique and eye catching. To be handed out to all Flower Show visitors, it also needed to feel high quality in the hand.
Our Response
As the garden exhibit did not exist yet, we chose to focus the design on the concept drawings and rationale behind the competition winners garden. With the gardens inspiration being the Roman city of Bath, we kept the design simple and structured. Utilising a strong corporate pink, and carefully chosen fonts and images, coupled with high quality print, Show Manager Dave Green was delighted with the finished flyer.
