About Joshua Robert  

Joshua Robert is a recruitment company that specialises in all areas of property recruitment. It was founded by Josh Powell together with a small, but dedicated team of experienced professionals. The company values dedication and integrity, putting their customers first. They focus on the qualities of each candidate to find a job that fits them, rather than making them fit the job – this also includes creating brand new opportunities if the perfect role isn’t listed yet.

 

The Challenge

Joshua Robert approached Digital Glue with three different challenges: to discover who their ideal customers are, to supply them with a new brand, and to create a new website. The creative elements had to represent their personal values and appeal to the audience, to enable the business to grow and develop.

 

Our Response

We started with the core challenge of defining the target audience: this helped to inform and inspire the work we created. We facilitated an ‘Ideal Client’ session with Josh and members of his team. This brainstorm session helped to narrow down 3 target audience groups. It also defined the characteristics, preferences and dislikes of each group, which allowed Joshua Robert to communicate effectively with them. The results were then visualised in a pdf that were shared with the team. 

Logo: Once the target audience had been defined, we worked alongside Josh to decide on the concept direction. Through various iterations, we created a concept which represented Joshua Roberts through the use of a leaf, symbolising growth, nurture and opportunity. We wanted to create a statement and picked bold colours that allowed the brand to stand out amongst their competitors. By using the leaf, we were able to expand out to other illustrations to aid the growth and nurtured approach which created the personal touch.

Website:

After the new Joshua Robert brand was established, we used the brand colours, fonts and assets to create a modern, playful but professional looking website. The website had usability at the forefront, enabling both candidates and employers to easily browse the site. We achieved this by including a search function on the homepage, displayed prominently and above the fold. The ‘jobs’ page itself was supplied with more extensive filters, combined with a list of jobs that displays key information for each listing. Location, salary and sector – the most important features for each job – can be spotted at a first glance. Each job is combined with an easy to access application form. Users can filter, search, find their ideal job, and send off their application within 2 to 4 clicks maximum.

Alongside this, the website provides in-depth information about the company’s expertise, introduces all team members and links them to the jobs they manage, and shares their knowledge on their personal blog.

The design of the website itself is meant to engage and inspire, combining playful graphics with video background and subtle animations.

 

Results

The Joshua Robert team were pleased with the refresh of both their brand and website. To quote Josh Powell, the owner:
