To celebrate the launch of the brand new Digital Glue website, we’re sharing our top tips for building a website that engages your customers and drives them to take action.
Make it easy for customers to get in touch
You want your customers to take action from your site so don’t make it difficult for them. Try and have a call to action on each page, whether it’s a phone number or an email address. A dedicated contact page is also important – this should feature all the ways customers can get in touch with you and include a map of where they can find your business if necessary.
Link to contact details on your services pages, for example.
Display most important information prominently
If someone clicks onto your website, can they find out what your business is all about in 5 seconds? If not, you are not explaining your value as a business prominently enough. If you don’t answer a user’s needs right away, they will simply click “back” and exit your site. Make sure your site features compelling copy that draws readers in and gives them reasons to stay.
Keep content fresh
We know we say it a lot, but that’s only because it’s true – content is king. Make sure you’re constantly refreshing content so customers know your business is active online. Look at your website as your company’s face to the world. You don’t want to come across as out-dated and out of the loop in your industry. Featuring a blog on your site is a great way of doing this.
Don’t forget the importance of SEO
Having a functional and attractive website becomes pointless if no one can find it. Search Engine Optimisation will help your website rank more highly on search result pages. Find out how we can help implement SEO on your website here.
Simplicity is key
It can be tempting to show off with lots of snazzy features on your website but the bottom line is how easy it is for the user to navigate. Make sure your site is straightforward enough for users to move from page to page easily, without confronting any confusing dead ends
