Digital Glue is hosting a charity quiz at The Old Crown on Wednesday 26th June 2019, to help raise money for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice.
Digital Glue is asking local businesses to enter a team of 4-6 people and to make a donation to the Hospice. Alongside the charity quiz, those involved will also get a chance to enter the raffle and win a number of great prizes donated by businesses in the area.
As a Birmingham-based agency, Digital Glue has been helping to raise money for the Hospice throughout the year, most notably through the ‘The Great Egg Smash’, which saw the company offer a chance to smash a seven stone chocolate egg, donated by Cadbury. And additionally, on 28th April, Digital Glue’s Managing Director, Javan Bramhall, successfully ran the London Marathon, completing it in three hours and 23 minutes, whilst raising over £1,000 for the Hospice.
The Hospice holds a special place in the hearts of the Bramhall family and in particular, Javan’s wife, Claire Bramhall, when her father, Chris Edwards, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. From the moment Chris was transferred to the Hospice, the care they received was described by the family as sensational, not only to Chris, but to the whole family, at an unbelievably difficult time. Their whole purpose is to ensure patients are made comfortable and believe whatever can be done to help, should be done.
Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice provides end of life care to people living with life-limiting illness, offering support to close friends and families. Every day, the Hospice supports 400 people across Birmingham and Sandwell. It offers a range of services from ‘Hospice at Home’ nursing, symptom management to end of life care as well as family and carer support, making the difficult times that little bit easier to bare. The Hospice costs over £8 million a year to run, and more than 50 percent of that cost is generated through fundraising.
